Airbranding, the Steinbranding company- www.airbranding.com was responsible for the development of the new branding of Carrasco International Airport in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The point of departure was the reinterpretation of the sun in the logotype. This icon embodies great visual recognition in Uruguay. It was reinvented to enable the harmonious coexistence with the new architecture of the terminal. Also, other strong icons of Uruguay’s visual culture were considered to accomplish the image renewal. The branding proposal included its application on back-lighted check-in counters and throughout the building as a distinctive element and visual language trigger. The airport typography and AIGA pictography in grey and orange, work on the white background signage. The FIDS are a clear example of how this concept was implemented. As a result, the outstanding wayfinding blends in a warm and modern way inside and outside the terminal, giving it a greater international projection. The branding was completed with the development of identifying signs, corporate identity elements and other system items. The effect of a clear, concise and sophisticated image will find it easy to expand globally. With a longstanding track record that includes the full airport branding design of “Zvartnots” Armenia International Airport and Mumbai International Airport, Airbranding provides creativity that generates a unique experience for worldwide passengers, proving that design has no borders.
