Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg Achieves Carbon Management Milestone with Level 3 Certification
Berlin Brandenburg Airport Attains Level 3 Carbon Management Certification
Berlin Brandenburg Airport, operated by Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (FBB), has achieved Level 3 certification in the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program on its first attempt. ACA, overseen by the European airport association ACI Europe, assesses airports’ carbon management efforts and emissions reduction strategies.
Level 3 certification indicates that FBB is actively reducing carbon emissions from its airport infrastructure, employing measures like renewable energy use, energy efficiency enhancements, optimization of airport facilities, and promoting sustainable mobility.
FBB aims to reduce carbon emissions by 65% by 2030 compared to 2010 and achieve carbon neutrality at BER operations by 2045.
