On September 9 Iberia will move its Barcelona operations to Terminal 1 in the city’s El Prat airport. The new terminal building will also be used by Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum, Vueling, Iberia’s partners in the oneworld alliance (American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, and Royal Jordanian), and other airlines with which Iberia has code-sharing arrangements.
The September 9 date for transferring operations to T1 is well in advance of the date set by the AENA airport authority. Passenger will thus benefit earlier from the improved services, substantial reductions in travel times, and the conveniences of a modern and efficient terminal. Works are now proceeding on the conditioning, signage, and equipping of the new spaces Iberia and its associated carriers will use in Barcelona’s new T1 building. Watch www.Iberia.com for news of future developments prior to the move.
