The International Conference on Recent Advances in Air and Space Technologies Is Being Held Between June 7-9, 2023 In İstanbul!
Defense, aviation and space industry, which is at the base of science and technology policies that take care of sustainable development, is among the important elements of the current century. As is known, with the establishment of the Turkish Space Agency in 2018, space studies gained momentum and many innovations were made. In 2021, Turkish Space Agency introduced the National Space Program to the public. Turkey, which has successful projects in the field of satellite technologies, actively benefits from the data obtained with the Rasat, Göktürk-1 and Göktürk-2 observation satellites and Türksat 3A, 4A, 4B, 5A and 5B communication satellites. In addition to these studies, the flight test of the SR 0.1 rocket developed by Roketsan was carried out, the first conceptual design images of Kızılelma and the characteristics of the aircraft were shared by Baykar Teknoloji, the hybrid engine technology to be used in the Sonda Rocket System (SORS), developed by DeltaV and planned to be ignited and hard landing on the Moon in 2023, has been tested, short-range ballistic missile Tayfun, which Roketsan was working on, was tested.
The Turkish Armed Forces, aiming to have effective power in space in parallel with the opportunities and technological developments of our country in the field of aviation and space, is on the way to the establishment of the Turkish Space Forces with the Reconnaissance Satellite Command, Air and Space Power Development Center and other units established within the Air Force Command. The Air Force Academy, which trains officers in line with the needs of the Air Force Command, also provides undergraduate engineering education in accordance with the requirements of science and technology and supports the development of military students in these fields. For this purpose, by organizing conferences, panels, seminars, and workshops in addition to the undergraduate education provided within the school and supporting the graduate education of the personnel, it ensures that current developments are followed and studies are carried out in related fields.
The 10th of the international RAST (Recent Advances in Air and Space Technologies) conferences, which have been held every two years since 2003 and where the latest developments in air and space technologies are discussed, will be organized by the Air Force Academy between June 7-9, 2023. International Conference on Recent Advances in Air and Space Technologies (RAST2023), which has 600 participants from over 30 countries, is recognized by the world’s leading engineering organizations, such as IEEE and AIAA, and is one of the world’s leading conferences in its field. It will be held at the Yenilevent Campus of the National Defense University with the participation of representatives of leading institutions and organizations working in the field of aviation and space in our country and in the world, as well as scientists from distinguished universities.
RAST 2023 Conference aims to create an opportunity to discuss the advances in aviation and space technologies in all aspects and lead to information transfer. In RAST 2023, discussion and evaluation of advances in the fields of aviation, cyber security and electronic warfare is also considered to take place unlike the previous RAST conferences.
Along with wide international participation in RAST 2023 Conference, Ministry of National Defense being in the first place, Ministry of Industry and Technology, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, General Staff, Air Force Command, Presidency of Defense Industries, General Directorate of Mapping, General Directorate of Military Factories, TÜBİTAK Space, representatives and researchers from SAGE and BİLGEM, private sector representatives from relevant field, engineers, academicians, and defense industry organizations operating in the field of aviation and space in our country are expected to participate in the conference.
